Symptoms
The complaints are mostly dependent on the load on the knee joint. Often the symptoms decrease in case of immobilization or even disappear completely.
Most common are:
- Pains or tightness in the hollow of the knee or at the upper calf muscles
- A recurring pressure-sensitive swelling in the hollow of the knee
- Movement restriction in case of very large cysts
If the Baker's cyst bursts, suddenly surmounting and strong pains of the knee joints or the complete lower leg as well as inflammatory components can appear.
